Best Indoor Golf in Springville, Utah

·

,

You do not have to drive anywhere. Pure Golf is in Springville, on the frontage road by the 1400 N exit, and it is open at every hour of every day of the year.

Two full-size private TrackMan bays, two PGA-certified instructors, and no membership to join before you can book an hour.

The Art City Has a Golf Course. It Closes at Thanksgiving.

Hobble Creek is a genuinely good municipal course. Springville City owns it, it sits up the canyon on Hobble Creek Canyon Road, and it has eighteen regulation holes with a driving range, putting green and chipping green attached. For a town of this size, having that at the mouth of your own canyon is a small luxury.

It also closes at Thanksgiving, every year, regardless of what the weather is doing. That is not the course being difficult — frozen ground does not recover from being played on, and nothing grows back until spring. So from the last week of November until the thaw, the Art City has no outdoor golf. That is about four months, or a third of the year, for every golfer in town.

What That Means for a Springville Golfer

Most people handle the closure by stopping. Clubs go in the garage in December, come out in April, and the first six weeks of the season get spent recovering whatever went missing. The golfers who arrive in spring swinging the way they finished are the ones who never stopped.

Springville is not short of places to hit a ball indoors, and we are not going to claim otherwise — there are a couple of other setups in town. What is worth knowing is what is actually different here.

The biggest bays in Utah Valley

Two of them, full size and enclosed. Room to swing a driver properly rather than carefully, and the room is yours for the hour.

Two PGA-certified pros

Steve and Dane teach on site, in the same bays you practice in. Adults 90 minutes at $100, juniors 60 minutes at $70.

No membership, ever

An hour is $35. Buy one, never come back if you like. Punch passes drop it to $30, $25 or $21.25 an hour.

Priced by the bay

Not per head. Four of you costs the same as one of you, which makes a winter evening cheap to split.

Who You Will Run Into

Hobble Creek regulars keeping sharp through the closure. Springville High players working on something in the off-season. Parents booking a junior lesson on a school night because it is a five-minute drive rather than a trip to Provo. Groups of three or four splitting a bay. And a steady run of people at genuinely unsociable hours, because the doors do not lock.

One practical note: we do not rent clubs, so bring your own. Juniors are fine on borrowed or hand-me-down clubs for a first go.

Where We Are

On the frontage road by the Springville 1400 N exit, with parking directly outside the door. From most of Springville that is under five minutes and involves no freeway at all. If you are coming down the canyon from Hobble Creek, it is straight through town.

The course shuts in November. We do not.
